About this event
Join the Bay Area Climbers Coalition for a day of stewardship and community!
First, join our Adopt-A-Crag event where we'll be taking on some volunteer stewardship projects at Indian Rock Park in the Berkeley Hills! Then, wander down to Berkeley Sports Basement for a climbing community Block Party from 1 - 5pm!
Volunteer Roles - We will be taking on the following projects at Indian Rock:
1. Debris, glass and trash clean-up
2. Clearing of paths and walkways
3. Adding new woodchips to areas around Indian Rock
4. Graffiti removal
Where is Indian Rock? Indian Rock is located up in the Berkeley Hills. The Mountain Project website provides a great overview and directions. Carpooling is a great option since parking is limited, please be respectful of neighbor's driveways.
Safety - We are HUGE on safety! There will be a safety talk at 9am on the day of the event. Please note that we require all participants to be present for the safety talk and wear closed toe shoes. Unfortunately, we cannot allow anyone to participate that does not wear closed toe shoes and/or attend the safety talk.
Food - Pastries and coffee will be provided during check in. We encourage you to meander over to the BACC Block Party at Berkeley Sports Basement following the stewardship event to enjoy community, food trucks, and more!
Water - There are drinking fountains available at Indian Rock, but please be sure to bring a water bottle.
Tools - We will be getting tools and gloves from the Berkeley Parks & Rec.
Bathrooms - There is no restroom at Indian Rock Park. Please keep this in mind, as the nearest restroom is a stroll down to Solano Avenue.
