Indian Cooking Class: Plain Idli, Kanchipuram Idli, and Tomato Chutney
Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
Mountain View, United States
- Plain Idlis
- Kanchipuram Idlis
- Tomato Chutney
As you walk into the class, you’ll be greeted with some hot chai.
Idlis are a South Indian favorite, these fluffy rice-lentil steamed cakes are airy and soft. Soak up your favorite chutney or curry with these and eat away! South Indians eat these are breakfast or snack. Depending on what part of South India you're in, you'll see a variety of Idlis being prepared.
Come learn how to make plain and Kanchipuram Idlis; the latter is a fancy, spiced (not spicy!) version of Idlis. We won't be using any store brought dough, but rather learn how to make an Idli dough from scratch using fresh ingredients. We'll pair these with gourmet tomator chutney and enjoy a terrific time together.
Address to the class will be provided after registration.
