Description

Curious to learn more about the flavors of India? Are you looking for new, simple, and healthy meal ideas? Start your day off with a delicious Savory Indian Breakfast!

Join us for a hands-on, interactive, Indian vegetarian cooking demonstration.

We will demonstrate how to prepare Upma, a delicious semolina wheat pilaf. Then, you’ll join in on the cooking fun and prepare your own Sabudana Aloo Tikki, a flavorful potato patty similar to a hashbrown. We’ll also show you how to make a delicious chutney to pair with the dishes!

Come with an appetite! You will enjoy generous tastings of all the food prepared. Traditional Indian Chai will also be served. All participants will also receive sample MasalaMix spice blends and recipe cards to recreate the Upma at home. We’ll also discuss the health benefits of Indian plant-based cooking and various Indian spices.

This class is vegan-friendly.

The class is taught by Masala Meals. The Masala Meals team includes a mom and her two daughters; Vidya Saligrama, a home cook for over 30 years; Dr. Madhuri Sharma, a family medicine physician with a passion to use food as medicine, and Viba Saligrama, a healthcare consultant.
