Join IMRC for an evening of sufi kalaam and qawwali with Bilal Chishty (Dhruv Sangari. Proceeds will benefit IMRC's Social Welfare Programs.

About this Event

Indian Muslim Relief & Charities is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which began in 1981. Our main office is in Mountain View, CA. We work year round to assess the needs of Muslims and minorities in poverty struck areas of India and develop projects based on their needs. We have a dedicated team, visionary leaders and over 100 organizations on site in India to improve social structures and economic opportunities so minorities & Muslims in India can have the opportunity to reach their full potential, contribute to society, have a voice in decisions that affect them and live and work in dignity.

Bilal Chishty (also known as Dhruv Sangari) began training in Hindustani classical music at the age of 7 under Smt. Shahana Bannerjee and Tabla with Pt. B.S. Ramanna. Later, he developed an interest in Sufism and Sufi music,and began learning Qawwali under Ustad Meraj Ahmed Nizami of the Delhi-Qawwalbachhe Gharana. He was also given training and guidance by the legendary Qawwali and Classical maestro late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khansaheb of Pakistan.

Bilal has featured on Coke Studio MTV Seasons 2 and 3. He's performed concerts at House of World Cultures in Berlin. National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai. Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, London, Turkey and more.
