Independent Medicine Networking Event

About this Event

Join us for an evening of networking with your colleagues. Don't miss this chance to meet your fellow independent physicians to celebrate small business in Medicine.

At the March 17th, Independent Practice Community Event at ACMS, get more information on the following!

1.     Compliance Alert: Appropriate Use Compliance Tool (Medicare rule)

On January 1, 2020 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented its new Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) Program that will require ordering professionals to consult a qualified Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (CDSM) prior to ordering Medicare Part B advanced diagnostic imaging services for a patient that will take place in those settings. Starting in 2021, without a code, the claim will be rejected.

Solution: Meet CMS AUC requirements with a clinical decision support mechanism that is approved by CMS. This product provides best practices and supporting information at the point of care to improve quality of care, ease compliance and enhance workflow efficiency.

2.    Compliance Alert: PA Act 112

ACT 112 is the Pennsylvania law passed in November 2019 that further regulates the prescribing of opiates by requiring prescribers to take additional steps, including a patient/prescriber treatment agreement; baseline toxicology testing; and routine drug testing to confirm compliance and avoid abuse.

Solution: Meet a local, growing company that specializes in Drug and Alcohol screening and testing products, to help you meet these compliance requirements. This company has an array of screening options known for their high quality and reliability.

3.    Compliance Alert: E-prescribing of Controlled Substances – Act 96

The Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) became mandatory for Pennsylvania prescribers in October 2019, in order to help combat the opioid epidemic.  EPCS requires the prescribers to directly send accurate, understandable prescriptions for Schedule ll –V controlled substances electronically, from their offices to pharmacies.

Solution: Evaluate a zero-cost EPCS mobile solution! Using your smart phone, it makes electronic prescribing simple, fast and convenient.

4.    Outsource Prior Authorizations for Specialty Medications

Solution: Partner with local pharmacies that provide service that your patients will love and reduce your time processing prior authorizations for specialty medications.
