Kuluntu Bakery invites you to join an Indaba - a collaborative, interactive community gathering in which we ideate a program to support our mission to co-create a food industry that dismantles patriarchy and builds stronger communities.

Kuluntu’s approach is always to work from and with people, centering people, communities and the environment throughout program development, implementation and evaluation. During the session we will brainstorm, ideate and identify program goals and priorities together.

For planning purposes, we ask that you only sign up if you are confident that you can attend (or email us if you are no longer able to attend). We will send out a quick pre-survey to attendees one week before the Indaba. Please email us at kuluntubakery@gmail.com if you require spoken or sign language interpretation.

Pastries and coffee will be served and all attendees will receive a coupon for a country sour loaf.

About the organizer

Organized by
Kuluntu Bakery

Kuluntu Bakery is nonprofit cottage bakery. Our mission is to co-create a food system and industry that dismantles patriarchy. We believe that centering marginalized voices builds stronger communities.

Kuluntu Bakery began in Cape Town, South Africa and now operates in Dallas, Texas. The meaning of “kuluntu” is “community” in isiXhosa, a South African language of the amaXhosa. We practice the principles of radical Ubuntu, which is the process of transforming the world with and from people towards a more dignity-centered, just and liberated society.
