Increase Your Chance to do Business with the City
Tue, July 18, 2017, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM MDT
Assisting businesses to grow and increase revenue streams is the main objective for this training. Creating an access pathway for businesses into diverse fields and competing for government contracts is an important way to help them go to the next level. Many small businesses do not realize the opportunities provided by obtaining certifications. This class will explain how small business owners do business with the city; the type of tools they use and the activities they participate in in order to be visible, and more importantly the options for certification as a small, minority, or women-owned business.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES :
To provide small business owners and overview of the tools to find opportunities with the city and how to navigate these tools. Additionally, an overview on how their marketing efforts complements these activities. The City and county of Denver maintains a defined selection pool of Small Business Enterprises (SBE) and specific projects for Emerging Business Enterprises (EBE). Larger companies that bid on the City’s construction projects meet the specific M/WBE/SBE/DBE goals by partnering with certified firms. We will show you how to be listed and how to review and access bidding or contract opportunities regularly.
After this training you will have ample understanding to navigate the system with the City of Denver and how to market your small business for these opportunities not only locally but state-wide.
We will provide valuable tools that participants can refer to about doing business with the city and the paperwork required to be a certified business.
We will cite some success stories of Colorado businesses that had great results and amazing accomplishments!
