Three Secrets to Successfully Managing Product Development Effort
Presented by Randy Iliff, Eclectic Intellect
Saturday, October 15, 2016
8:00 am - 4:30 pm
INCOSE Chicagoland Chapter is proud to present our fall seminar, "Three Secrets to Successfully Managing Product Development Effort", presented by Randy Iliff on Saturday, October 15 in Schaumburg, IL. Early bird rates start at $175. Space is limited, so register today!
Development effort is always hard to successfully manage. Even in the simplest possible case, when all of the objectives are known in advance and resources are available, there is still need for constant adjustment in response to external variables. Basic insight and tools do a great job of helping the PM manage simple projects, but what happens when things aren’t so simple?
Projects become exponentially more challenging though whenever they must simultaneously define and execute work. Concepts such as rolling-wave planning, requirements maturity, iterative development, validation and verification, and many others move from useful to essential. This tutorial explores three secrets to successfully managing product development effort. Attendees will learn how to manage tasks of varying complexity, understand the "development difference" and effectively build on existing knowledge to maximize project success.
Mr. Iliff has over 30 years’ experience in product development and project management, including aerospace and commercial settings. Mr. Iliff is a charter member of the International Council On Systems Engineering (INCOSE), founder / prior Chairman of the INCOSE Commercial Practices Working Group, and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and IEEE. He currently serves as the INCOSE representative on an alliance between INCOSE, PMI, and the MIT Center for Program Excellence. A frequent speaker, Mr. Iliff has developed and conducted thousands of hours of training covering all aspects of product development, particularly systems engineering and project management excellence.
This seminar is being offered at rates starting at $175. Discounts are available for early bird registrations (by September 23), INCOSE members, and students who are enrolled at least 3/4 time in an accredited program at a university. Non-members who join INCOSE during registration will receive the INCOSE member rate and a one-year membership in one convenient payment. Please see the Tickets section for specific pricing information.
