About this Event
The goal of the Incident Safety Officer course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the Incident Safety Officer (ISO) during incident Operations and Training evolution's.
Instructor Biography:
Reed Godfrey is a 25 year veteran of the fire service and is currently a Battalion Chief with the Salem Fire Department, where he has served for 21 years. Reed’s command and control experiences have included his job as a Battalion Chief, Division Chief, involvement in the City’s Emergency Operations Center and several years as a Safety Officer on the State of Oregon’s Type II all Hazards Incident Management Teams. Reed has attended the National Fire Academy 7 times working to strengthen his understanding of ICS completing such classes as ICS all hazards Operations Section Chief, ICS of Structural Collapse, Command and Control of Multiple Alarms, and Command and Control of Natural and Man Made Disasters. Reed is a firm believer that how incidents are set up from the very beginning will dictate long term success in these incidents. Meets FO1/4.7 Health and Safety.
The Mid-Willamette Fire Officer Development Institute is a cooperative leadership program of the Mid-Willamette Fire Instructor’s Association and Salem Fire Department.
