Thank you for your interest in attending the Inauguration Celebration. Unfortunately, we are sold out due to the overwhelming response. Tickets will not be available at the door.
The 2023 Mayoral Inaugural Celebration will be held at the WaterFire Arts Center. We are planning a celebratory evening that highlights Providence’s artistic and cultural heritage with food samplings represented by the City's unique culinary scene. Live entertainment and performances by Community Music Works, Sidy Maiga African Drummers, Music One and Mickey Ysu All Stars Latin Band.
Attire: Creative black tie encouraged
Due to the capacity of this event, we do encourage folks to carpool or rideshare. Limited free parking will be available in the adjacent lot to the WaterFire Building.

Inauguration Schedule of Events - Monday, January 2, 2023
Interfaith Breakfast
- We will begin the day by hosting an Interfaith Breakfast with different faith leaders from throughout the city. The breakfast will be at 8:15 a.m. with the prayer ceremony beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Providence Public Library located at 150 Empire Street.
Inauguration Swearing-in Ceremony
- The official swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Providence Public Library at 225 Washington Street. The doors will open at 1 p.m., pre-ceremony performances begin at 1:30 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 2 p.m.
Open House and Reception
- Immediately following the ceremony, we will walk to Providence City Hall for an open house and reception from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Inauguration Celebration
- WaterFire Arts Center from 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Advance ticket registration required.
