Inaugural Wingate Jorts Mile
Event Information
Description
What is this?
The Inaugural Wingate Jorts Mile is a one mile run/walk that begins and ends at the new campus fountain on former Camden Promenade! The course runs through the main campus, including the academic quad, South Village quad, by the library, over the Burris seal, and beneath the graduation arc. The finish will run the former camden promenade where participants will cross the finish line near the new fountain. The kicker is this; participants are asked to participate wearing a pair of jorts (jean shorts).
Where do the proceeds go?
20% of all funds raised will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
60% will go to 3 additional charities (20% each) that are not yet determined. Race participants are asked to suggest charities, and the top 3 suggested will receive the donation! E-mail suggestions to an.w.smith@wingate.edu.
20% of the proceeds will be used to cover race costs. Any extra money raised will be divided evenly among the 4 charities.
