The South Fulton Business Coalition is celebrating National Women's Small Business Month by empowering and educating women in business! American Express Open in 2013 declared the State of Georgia as the fastest growth in women-owned businesses in the country. As of 2012, according to the National Women’s Small Business Council, the state has nearly 377,000 firms owned by women, which is a 35.3 percent increase from 2007. These businesses account for 41.1 percent of all privately held firms in the state. White women have the largest number of firms in the state totaling 175,964 firms which account for over $37 billion in receipts. Asian women have the second highest receipt total at slightly over $4 billion for 23,966 firms and black women produced nearly $3.5 billion in receipts via 153, 513 firms. Hispanic women-owned business grew by 92.8 percent with black women growing by 73 percent.
