Description

Pitt Community College’s Minority Male Success Initiative, The M.A.I.N. Initiative LLC, and MasterMinds At Work, Inc. is pleased to announce the “Inaugural M.A.I.N. (Males Addressing Issues & Needs) Summit”!

On Saturday, October 14, 2017 on the campus of Pitt Community College, men, young and seasoned, from all over the country will convene to take their rightful place and seize the opportunity to have their voice heard regarding the state of minority men. The mantra for this year’s inaugural event is quoted by Moliere: “It is not only what we do, but also what we do not do, for which we are accountable.” This mantra sets the stage for our inaugural theme, Stephen Covey’s coined phrase: “Accountability breeds response-ability!” We guarantee this day will be a life-changing experience for all involved as we seek to examine, explore, dissect, articulate, and most importantly develop strategies to address issues and needs experienced by college and adult men alike.

The keynote speaker for the Summit will be Pitt County’s very own, Mr. La'Quon Rogers! This dynamic young man is Pitt Community College’s former Student Government Association (SGA) President, former President of the North Carolina Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association (N4CSGA), and currently East Carolina University’s SGA President! La'Quon is also an Elder in the church.

Lunch will be provided for all participants. Thank you, we look forward to seeing you there and remember "As iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another!"
