Learn how to participate in scientific research by turning your wildlife photos into data points for science!

iNaturalist 101 Trainings are led by the Community Science Program at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

  • Cost is free, but RSVP required
  • Trainings are indoors and outdoors
  • Focus is on how to use the iNaturalist mobile app
  • This training is targeted to people who are beginners/novices with iNaturalist and/or Community Science

  • What is Community Science
  • Why the Museum uses community science to research urban nature in Southern California
  • How to use the iNaturalist mobile app to: join projects, take photos, explore around you, and how to engage with the online community
  • Pro Tips on taking photographs of wildlife for scientific research
