Following on from our success in last year’s event, In Your Head (WA’s only Youth Mental Health Forum) is back for 2017!

Join us for a day full of inspiring heroes, learn about ways to maintain good mental health, and discover more about yourself.


Date: Thursday 7th September 2017

We've got an awesome line-up of presenters, including retired sports star MATTHEW PAVLICH, inspirational speaker AMY COOMBE, The Happiness Scientist, ANNIKA ROSE, and best-selling author/adolescent expert, DR ARNE RUBINSTEIN.

Speaker Profiles


Matthew Pavlich

Captaining FFC for almost nine years consecutively, Matthew is no stranger to the pressures and stress of the professional athlete. His experiences established him as a strong advocate for the power of teamwork, and a motivational superstar. His dedication to helping others overcome obstacles and to chase big dreams, as well as his powerful leadership qualities, key him as a true inspiration to young fans, teammates and supporters alike.



Amy Coombe

Amy is a National Inspirational Speaker, Master of Ceremonies and nationally accredited Life and MBIT Coaching Practitioner. She is extremely passionate about making a difference to the lives of others, and after having worked with over 20,000 Teens, Teachers and Parents across Australia in relation to all things mental health, wellbeing & body image, Amy knows that there has never been a time when caring about mental health and wellbeing has been so important. Her sense of humour, her emotion and her honesty can’t be missed.



Dr Arne Rubinstein

Former GP, part-time ER doctor, author of The Making of Men, and founder of Uplifting Australia, Dr Rubinstein is an advocate for bringing out the best in all teenagers, he has spent over 30 years developing camps, programs, and inspirational presentations focused on modern ‘Rites of Passage’ to support youths around the world in the transition to adulthood, and covers topics from Technology and Rites of Passage in the 21st Century, to Secret Men’s Business (for women only).


Annika Rose

Annika is a Happiness Scientist and Mindfulness Teacher. After working as a health professional in the UK and Australia, she founded The Wellbeing Collective to positively impact the wellbeing of as many people in as many places as possible. Her work focuses on increasing wellbeing and happiness in her clients by bringing the latest science to life and using evidence-based offerings to spark positive transformation.
