The legend of Robin Hood is a story of promise...of camaraderie, fellowship, and self sacrifice- where the common "man" fights against tyranny and injustice for the good of all. This ageless tale is still relevant today, where friendship and honor drive decisions, and will matter most in the end.
While Lady Robyn of Locksley is away fighting in the crusades, her lands are taken by the greedy Prince John. Rather than continuing to be part of the oppression that rules England, she forms a band of rebels to help those in need. Will the Sheriff of Nottingham catch them and execute the crown's version of justice, and what price must be paid in order for Robyn to save her friends?
This story is told in a full-length dance production. VYD delights audiences with their unexpected blend of exciting hip-hop and compelling lyrical choreography, with song choices that "tell" the story. Dance itself is infused with drama as the cast brings characters to life through movement and acting, with imaginative staging, beautiful costumes, and brilliant set pieces and lighting.
With this show, Vermont Youth Dancers highlights the work of Wood 4 Good and Aunt Dot's Place Food Shelf.
