This year “In the Room & At The Table” will kick off a year-long celebration of the Seminar’s milestone Twentieth Anniversary. Since 2003, nearly 1,700 Seminar alumni, from throughout Massachusetts and the world, have gained the skills, mindset, and networks to help them influence decision-makers at all levels of government for the betterment of their communities.

As part of our celebration, we will also be featuring the Seminar’s “20 for 20” – honoring twenty of the Seminar’s most notable and accomplished alumni.

The Seminar is a non-partisan, non-profit organization with a mission of “Opening the Doors of Government to Everyone”. As has been made starkly clear over the past several years, access to decision-makers has rarely been more important than in these difficult times, and the Seminar strives to level the playing field for these diverse communities. Three times a year, we offer a six-week legislative training course for leaders & activists who live in, and work with, underserved communities so that they might more effectively advocate for their communities and the issues they care about.

Over 90% of our nearly 1,700 alumni are from communities-of-color, over 70% of our graduates are either immigrants or New Americans, and 67% are women. reach a wide-ranging, diverse population.
