Welcome to a new season & chapter at Chef Toni’s Cooking Adventures. Join Food Network Star Master Chef Chris Nirschel as he presents his Young Chefs Training Program that focuses on the development and understanding of proper culinary techniques, recipe creation, plating and sit down meals. Following his traditional training in the French Arts, Chef Chris guides Jr. Chefs in a fun, learning atmosphere while pushing culinary boundaries and creating innovations for a true NYC foodie experience.
Jr. Chefs will learn the fundamentals of cooking and acquire the proper techniques for knife skills, mother sauces, soups & stocks; how to apply heat for searing, sautéing, roasting, frying and more and how to balance the use of fats by pairing them with healthy salads and prepare dressings with flavor combinations to emulsify. Jr. Chefs will also accompany Chef Chris on an exploration to farmers markets and other food purveyors and attend a class at the French Culinary Institute or travel to important NYC Food spots around the city. At the end of this series, students will prepare a tasting menu to demonstrate skills gained and cook, serve and pair foods for a one-hour dinner with their parents.
