IN THE HUDDLE: Lessons from Female Leaders in Sport

Description
This is a unique opportunity offered to female student-athletes in high school to learn from stories told by accomplished women in their various fields. Our dynamic speakers are female leaders in sport and key contributors within their community. Guest speakers will have 15 minutes to tell their story and share their advice from their experience in sport. Topics include resilience, adversity, leadership, and much more. Students will have an opportunity to network with guest speakers after the event.
Speakers include:
- Theresa Beesley, PhD Youth Sport Researcher
- Pam Danis, Former CIS Basketball Player & Coach
- Stephanie Merenda, MHK Mental Performance Coach
- Andrea Beneteau, Former OUA and OCAA Basketball Player, Basketball Referee, Firefighter Captain
- Julie Shum, Skate Coach, Ultra-Marathon Runner
- Deb Fullerton, Former CIS Field Hockey Player and Coach, Former National Team Member, Former Pro Golfer
- Jo-Hannah Yeo, Former Ultimate National Team Member
Parents, guardians and community members are welcome to attend the event, but will be asked to sit in a separate section. Front seats will be reserved for female student-athletes.
