Join us for a free two-hour workshop “In the Dark with Linux: Learning and Applying Cybersecurity Today,” led by lead instructor Wesley Phillips.
During the workshop, you will solve real cybersecurity problems in the Linux Command Line Interface. Linux is an open-source operating system used by hackers and cybersecurity professionals on a daily basis.
Topics will include:
- General skills
- Forensics
- Cryptography
- Reversing
- Web Exploitation
- Binary exploitation
This is a free, beginner-level workshop that is open to anyone of any level skill set interested in learning more about cybersecurity. Register now to secure your spot!
Optional Prerequisites
Virtualbox or VMware. Only one is required. Software must be installed and working prior to the workshop.
Preferred: Debian-based Linux Distro. Kali Linux will be used. Ubuntu or Parrot Security will work as well.
Preferred: At least one additional monitor is ideal, but not mandatory. Students simply work quicker and more effectively with one or more monitors.
Expectations: Attendees are expected to ask questions, participate in all tasks with the facilitator, and to have fun learning and applying real Linux commands to solve cybersecurity problems.
