Description

Handlettering at the Biltmore (Almost)

One reclaimed cabinet door + One lettering tutorial and One jar of

chalk paint = spend an evening painting in the artist studio and sipping champagne at Historic Westwood

Create a lovely piece for your abode or a gift for a friend...

The Knox Heritage Salvage Shop has over 30 cabinet doors just begging to
be upcycled. Choose one and you’re off!

Paint yours in a velvety shade of chalk paint. (You’ll take home a secret
recipe for making your own!) While it’s drying, you’ll learn a lovely lettering
script that looks like you’ve been practicing for years. Accessorize your
handmade treasure with odd bits of historical hardware and this time you’re
off to (nonchalantly) brag about how easy it was to create something so
lovely in one evening.

Oops, we forgot to mention that you’ll be creating all this in the art studio at
Historic Westwood, a room that dates back to 1890 and makes you feel like you are at the Biltmore.
Oh, and we’ll be drinking champagne.

Instructor Mary Lawrence Woodhull is a former magazine Art Director whose
business, Matchbox Factory, specializes in handlettering for such clients as
Cruze Farm, Rala, and too many weddings to count.
