Virginia's past includes a rich and varied maritime component that begins with the earliest inhabitants who for millennia have utilized our bays, rivers, and streams and continues through Colonial settlement and exploration to a dependency on waterways that continues to this day. Join renowned archaeologists, historians, and scholars to learn about Virginia's maritime heritage and how its citizens can become involved in a statewide effort to locate and protect maritime archaeological sites.
