Event description

Description

In Process @ The Watermill Center invites the community to engage with our resident artists on Saturday afternoons through open rehearsals, workshops, studio visits, lectures or artist talks.

Watermill’s mission is to provide artists and thinkers the opportunity to focus on the development of their work and practice. Artists-in-Residence have gone on to perform at venues and festivals including the New Museum, Roulette, PS122, American Realness, Clocktower Gallery, Performa, Vienna’s Donaufestival, Kampnagel in Hamburg, CPR – Center for Performance Research, and the Baryshnikov Arts Center.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

groupe Karol Karol is a company founded by Caroline Breton and Charles Chemin in 2016. They conceive shows between theater and dance, with subjects where fiction and reality collide, and where space and time are unstable parameters. The staging concepts rely directly on the singularity of the people present on stage, their lives, stories, through improvisations. They look inside the humans to unveil the mysterious dimension of their actions and perceptions. Breton and Chemin indistinctly write choreographic scores, write or use texts, use improvisation, collage, interview people or shut up. Any material is potentially an appropriate mean for introducing the “outside world” into the performance.
