About this Event
In the realm of memorable experiences that linger in the heart of one’s memories, nothing feels, or tastes quite like home. This class is essentially a trip to my homeland, inspired by Chef Milad's mother’s “Sunday Special”; one of his absolute favorites and soon to be yours. If the people of Lebanon are known for anything, it has to be their excesses in hospitality; Chef Milad is a proud ambassador.
In this collaborative effort, a variety of technical chef skills will serve to expand on your kitchen chops and sense of hospitality. Above all, Chef will aim to showcase the abundance of flavors, balance of ingredients, and the wholesomeness of preparing and partaking in Eastern Mediterranean feast. The only threat involved here is one of a good time.
In this energetic and interactive class, you will learn how to master five delicious small plate recipes. Our Chef Instructor will enlighten you on the background of Lebanese cuisine and culture, before taking you through a detailed demonstration of how to construct each of the dishes that are healthy and full of flavors. You will then be guided step-by-step in replicating how to make Fattoush - fresh, mouth watering salad with home-made pita chips, Kafta kabobs - juicy meat skewers made with ground meat and spices, Tomato + Onion Kabobs, French Fries (house-cut), Toum - whipped garlic sauce that will bring that true authentic flavor to the meal. After creating your East Mediterranean masterpieces, you will have time to sit down with a glass of wine (BYOB of your favorite wine or beer) and eat your meze creations to your hearts content!
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting.
Please arrive on time, wearing your mask. Guests are invited to BYOB wine, beer, or champagne.
