This summer, experience IN PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY, a lush outdoor performance piece shaped specifically for the gorgeous rooftop plaza at John Jay College. Choreographer Melissa Riker and her collaborators of Kinesis Project dance theatre will present this “visually stunning” (Carson Fox) work on July 27th and 28th. The promenade performance uses beautiful, fierce, playful and graceful movement landscapes. Dancer’s bodies, laughter, sneezing, gestures and hundreds of yards of fabric tell the story of the imperfection of our memories. Begin your evening with friends on the rooftop terrace as dance unfolds before you. Vibrant costumes by designer Asa Thornton color the open air landscape and dancers’ laughter resonates as you sip lemonade. Follow the lead of the performers to see what happens next in the sweeping space. Kinesis Project dance theater has been called “a moveable feast, in more ways than one” by critic Eva Yaa Assantwaa; come dine with us!
