Monitoring financial stability, between active monetary policies and fragmentation risks

François Villeroy de Galhau, Governor of the Banque de France and a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, will discuss how central bankers and regulators can monitor financial stability between active monetary policies and fragmentation risks.

The event will open with a welcome address by the Dean of London Business School, François Ortalo-Magné, and will be chaired by Professor Richard Portes.

François Villeroy de Galhau

François Villeroy de Galhau, Governor, Bank of France

François Villeroy de Galhau was appointed Governor of the Banque de France by the President of the French Republic in September 2015. He is also a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank.

Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the BNP Paribas group, in charge of domestic markets and corporate social responsibility.

Richard Portes, Professor of Economics and Academic Director of the AQR Asset Management Institute at London Business School, is Founder and Honorary President of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), inaugural holder of the Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa Chair at the European University Institute (2014-2017), and Co-Founder and Co-Chair (1984-2016) of the Board of Economic Policy.
