About this Event

Host: Julie Maloney

Julie Maloney, director of WOMEN READING ALOUD, an international writing community, kicks off a new virtual "In Conversation" series with a reading by author, Laraine Herring. Laraine Herring holds an MFA in creative writing and an MA in counseling psychology. Her short stories, poems and essays have appeared in national and local publications, including The New York Times. Her fiction has won the Barbara Demin Award for Women and her nonfiction work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She is a tenured professor of creative writing and psychology, and currently teaches full-time at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona. She is the author of several books on the craft of writing; including: “Writing Begins With The Breath,” “The Writing Warrior,” and “On Being Stuck.” Her latest book, “The Grief Forest,” with illustrations by the author, speaks of what we don’t talk about. Her upcoming memoir will be released in October 2021, titled “A Constellation of Ghosts: A Speculative Memoir with Ravens.”
