As part of the Invisible Men exhibition, award-winning artist and designer Aitor Throup will be speaking In Conversation with Ike Rust.
Aitor Throup is an Argentinian / British artist, designer and creative director whose multi-disciplinary design house ‘A.T. Studio’ collaborates across multiple industries and is lauded for developing the directional ‘New Object Research’ clothing line which has received critical acclaim for breaking the boundaries of the standard catwalk format and the seasonal conventions of the fashion system.
Throup is renowned for his figurative and conceptual explorations of human anatomy through deep metaphorical narratives.
As Head of Menswear at the Royal College of Art, Ike Rust taught a generation of designers including Aitor Throup, that revolutionised British menswear, and led to the launch of London Fashion Week Mens in 2012.
Throup has won numerous awards for his creative output and has twice been nominated for Design of the Year at the Design Museum, London in 2010 and 2017.
