PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

As a CFO, one of the most important aspects of your role is fostering an environment of financial responsibility within your organization. This comes with key challenges, including communication of policies and procedures, establishing and monitoring internal controls, as well as implementing and maintaining effective financial reporting and cash management procedures. Join us our expert panelists to discuss and debate each of their unique perspectives on the overarching responsibilities of finance executives.

Sandra Clarke, CFO, Blue Shield of CA

Sandra Clarke has more than 25 years of experience directing worldwide financial organizations. Her experience spans the breadth of critical industries including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, water treatment, software development and defense. Sandra is a senior level executive with proven ability to improve operations in global businesses: impacting business growth; managing difficult situations; and, maximizing profits. She is known for her achievements in finance leadership, business partnership, cost reductions, and internal controls.

Michael Jones, Partner, Goodwin

Michael Jones is a partner in Goodwin's Securities Litigation & White Collar Defense group with a focus on working with Technology and Life Sciences clients. He has been recognized by the Daily Journal as one of California’s top 40 Under 40 lawyers, listed in The Legal 500 U.S., and recognized as a Super Lawyer “Rising Star” for his representation of clients in shareholder and derivative lawsuits, alleging violations of the Securities Exchange Act, as well as regulatory, civil and criminal investigations by the SEC, Department of Justice, SROs and state attorneys general, including allegations of accounting fraud, insider trading, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and disclosure violations, among others.

 

 

Bethany Greenwood, Managing Director, Marsh


Bethany Greenwood currently leads Marsh’s FINPRO (Financial Professional) risk practice for the West Zone. She handles the design, negotiation and placement of bespoke D&O/IPO, E&O and cyber programs for Marsh’s most complex clients. Bethany educates clients on various coverage issues and counsels them through the selection of insurance products and carriers. She is also a key member of the FINPRO US IPO Team coordinating Marsh’s IPO activities nationwide. Bethany has been handling management liability lines of insurance for the past 20 years and has worked for Marsh FINPRO since 2001.

 

Ken Schwarz, Managing Director, BrightAvenues

 

Ken Schwarz has over thirty years of senior level experience with rapidly growing technology and consumer companies.  He currently serves as Managing Director of BrightAvenues LLC where he provides advisory services to early-stage companies. Ken has served as President and as CFO with companies in the solar, identity theft, wireless and telecom industries.  His experience includes leading an IPO, multiple debt and equity financings, extensive M&A experience and managing restructurings.  With a primary focus on consumer-oriented companies, he has had success leveraging third-party channels, scaling companies’ business systems and processes for significant growth and providing the data analytics capabilities to compete effectively.

Non-member senior financial executives (CFOs, Vice Presidents of Finance, Directors of Finance and Controllers (or the like) are welcome to attend this program for $65. If it's your first time at our event, you are invited to attend for free as a CFOLC Guest. 

Please note that service providers or any executives who are not senior financial executives (CFOs, Vice Presidents of Finance, Controllers, Directors of Finance, etc.) cannot attend this event. The CFO Leadership Council reserves the right to decline any registration.
