Event description
IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild™

About this event

Founded in 2016 by classical pianist Hunter Noack, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild is an outdoor concert series where America’s most stunning landscapes replace the traditional concert hall. We bring a 9-foot Steinway grand piano on a flatbed trailer to National Parks, urban greenspaces, working ranches, farms, and historical sites for classical music concerts that connect people with each landscape.

To meet the acoustical challenges of performing in the wild, music is transmitted to concert-goers via wireless headphones. No longer confined to seats, you can explore the landscape, wander through secret glens, lie in sunny meadows, and roam old growth forests.

MORE INFORMATION

DIRECTIONS/PARKING

Mt. Pisgah is southeast of the Eugene/Springfield area. The main entrance is accessible off Seavey Loop Drive 2 miles east of the intersection of 30th Avenue & I-5. This route is well signed. For the Mount Pisgah Arboretum parking lot, turn right after crossing the bridge spanning the Coast Fork of the Willamette River and follow the road to a large, 3-level gravel parking area.

Lane County Parks charges $4 for a single-day parking pass for the Howard Buford Recreation Area (HBRA), which includes Mount Pisgah Arboretum. You can purchase your pass at the big yellow vending machine next to the Mount Pisgah Summit Trailhead (on the main entrance road, uphill from the parking lots). The fee machine accepts credit or debit cards. A current annual pass displayed on the windshield of your vehicle also satisfies LCP’s parking fee. Both pass types can also be purchased at the Arboretum office, M-F, 10 AM – 4 PM.
