In a Faith Crisis? Want to Help Those in a Faith Crisis?
Date and time
Description
Many of our dear Latter-day Saint members are in a faith crisis or faith journey through no fault of their own and are looking for authentic ways to stay in our restored church. Or, there are many local leaders or have friends or family members in a faith journey and want to know the best way to help and minister to them.
Come to this free event to learn more about this space from active and committed members who desire to help more stay in our church.
Speaking at the event is Brother Richard 'Papa' Ostler who is a married father of six children, former YSA Bishop, and active church member. Brother Ostler went thru his own 'mini-faith' crisis while serving as a YSA Bishop and remains a committed member. He talks about how this process led to a firmer and more sustainable foundation in our restored church and a much better framework to help others. He will present research on the reasons some of our members are leaving and how best to address these reasons.
Also speaking at this event is Brother Taylor Christensen, RM, age 25 who knows all about our sometimes messy church history and still believes. Taylor has great insights on how to help others stay and Christlike principals to support those who leave.
The event is in Orem, Utah and is free and open to the general public (generally 18 and older); however, registration is required. The event is at the SCERA Center for the Arts (Show House II), 745 State Street, Orem, UT 84058. Register for free tickets at eventbrite.com (search Richard Ostler).
