#ImReady Movement 2019 Conference: Violence, Solidarity & Healing

Join us at the #ImReady2019 conference happening on September 20, 2019 at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center in Oakland, CA. This year, our major convening will focus on self-identified Asian and Pacific Islander women, girls, and gender non-conforming communities and our experiences and leadership with Violence, Healing, and Solidarity. The event will be hosted by our organization, AAPI Women Lead, which was created to build upon the progressive politics of Asian and Pacific Islander communities in the United States through the leadership of self-identified AAPI women and girls and in solidarity alongside other communities of color.

Our conference will include table talk conversations and fire side chats to examine violence against Asian and Pacific Islander women, girls, and gender non-conforming communities. Our conference will include our communities’ reclamation of traditional forms of healing. We will host workshops and provide healing opportunities such as acupuncture, body work, yoga, effective communication, and intuitive healing. Workshops and agenda subject to change.

The conference is located on the second floor of the Pacific Renaissance Plaza in Oakland’s Chinatown. Escalators, stairs and elevators are available to access conference and parking garage.

Parking garage directions are below.

Transportation: Participants are encouraged to use public transportation. Street parking is limited. Parking garage is available.

PARKING

Underground in the Pacific Renaissance Plaza. We do not validate for parking. The parking fee is $2 per hour with a maximum daily rate of $24. There is a flat fee special of $2.00 after 5 pm until closing weekdays. In the Plaza, take the elevator to the 2nd floor. OACC is the first suite on the left.

Franklin 88 Parking Garage on Franklin Street between 9th and 10th Street across the street from Pacific Renaissance Plaza is a flat fee of $6.00 all day on the weekends.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) options:

-The closest BART station is 12th Street Station at Broadway in Oakland. Walk south on Broadway to 11th Street and turn left. Continue on 11th Street and turn right on Franklin to enter the Pacific Renaissance Plaza.

-From the Lake Merritt BART Station. Exit at the 9th Street exit and walk west on 9th Street for 5 blocks to the Pacific Renaissance Plaza.

Metered street parking around the Plaza is $2.00 per hour (8am-6pm) and FREE on Sundays.
