Two-Day Intensive MASTER CLASSES with Gary Schwartz

Viola Spolin’s Theater Games launched the American improvisational theater movement and changed the way acting is taught. Her work has influenced generations of actors and educators. Spolin’s long-time student and protégé, Gary Schwartz will introduce you to Spolin’s groundbreaking work as he leads a week-long intensive workshop of playful discovery about:

Spontaneity • Team-building • Fun • Listening • Communication • Problem-solving • Creativity • Intuition • Confidence • Focus • Self-awareness • Authenticity & Connection.

Gary Shwartz's workshop will introduce you to Spolin’s work in depth. It is open to all levels. November 10th, Saturday 10 am – 4 pm, November 11th, Sunday 10 am – 4 pm

Open to beginners and experienced players alike.

"Everyone can act. Everyone can improvise. Anyone who wishes tocan play in the theater... If the environment permits it, anyone can learn whatever he chooses to learn, and if the individual permits it, the environment will teach him everything it has to teach. "talent" or "lack of talent" have very little to do with it." -Viola Spolin.

BECOME THE COMPLETE IMPROVISER: Spolin’s Theater Games are simple, operational structures that are each built upon a specific focus or technical problem. The games have a liberating effect for the player. There are games to free the actor’s tension, games to cleanse the actor of subjective preconceptions of the meaning of words, games of relationship and character, games of concentration - in short, games for each of the areas with which the growing actor is concerned.

Work in a fun and playful atmosphere and connect with your real talents for spontaneous play and real connection between you and your fellow players. It’s great for beginners and accomplished actor alike. These skills will help you access and refine your natural talents for the stage and beyond.

Workshops are at Cinematic Arts and Sound, Oceanside, CA. November 10th,11th 2018 10 AM – 4 PM daily.
