A growing body of research correlates certain aspects of learning environments with measurable outcomes. Environmental factors such as lighting, acoustics and indoor air quality can positively influence academic performance, teaching effectiveness, student attendance, disciplinary problems, safety and ergonomics and faculty retention. This CEU examines research about the impact of environmental elements on the learning environment

• Enumerate the acoustical benefits of floor covering.
• Explain how floor covering affects safety and slip/fall resistance.
• Explain how floor covering affects glare, comfort and light resistance.
• Define how flooring contributes to indoor air quality and a healthy environment, especially as related to allergy/asthma.
Improving The Learning Environment is AIA, IDCEC and EDAC accredited. (HSW DESIGNATION)
