Overview

This is a unique program designed to trigger reflection on a company’s impact driven through their value chain, and help participants take concrete action that leads to positive change.

Participants will be exposed to an overview of supply chain related challenges and opportunities that many businesses are facing. The workshop is structured to provide ample time for discussion, sharing of experiences, and reflection. Participants will make individual commitments around the actions they intend to begin implementing within their organisation and the facilitation team will act as an accountability partner.

This learning experience is the result of a collaborative effort between B Lab Europe and Pearl Consulting.


Target Audience:

This 1-day workshop is intended for Senior Directors, Directors and Senior Managers on a journey to accelerate meaningful change within their organisation, supply chain and industry.

Participants are exposed to a wide range of current supply chain related challenges and opportunities and are given time to reflect upon their company’s most pressing supply chain sustainability needs. There is ample opportunity to learn from and discuss with subject matter experts and peers facing similar challenges.

Content

An introduction to the B Corp framework and the Sustainable Development Goals, providing ideas and examples of how companies can better understand, improve and measure the impact of their supply chain by leveraging a range of B Lab’s tools and the SDGs.

Exposure to key issues, trends, risks and opportunities present in many supply chains, alongside examples of how other companies are responding – issues covered include: human rights, supplier relations, SDG’s, renewable energy, technology, transparency, plastics and packaging, circular economy, and more.


Themes Covered

  • B Corp Movement - B Corp community, quick overview of certification process, B impact Assessment, B Economy, etc.
  • B Corp Way of Managing Supplier Impact - Know your suppliers, us not them, longterm relationships, measure, etc.
  • Frameworks for Managing Impact - Introduction to the B Impact Assessment and the SDGs as useful frameworks for inspiring and measuring impact in supply chains
  • The Why - A quick overview of the business case for understanding and improving supplier impact
  • Transparency: Benefits, levels of success, best practices and approaches
  • Human Rights - Workers' rights, child labor, forced labor, Modern Slavery Act, etc.
  • Environment - Plastics and packaging, renewable energy, circular economy, science based targets, climate change
  • Tech: Blockchain in supply chain, AI, automation, etc.
  • Incentive Program - Examples of ways other companies are incentivising their suppliers to change

Outcome

Participants will complete the workshop feeling energised about the exponential positive change they can affect in the world, and take away actionable first steps to solving key supply sustainability issues relevant for their company.

Cost: We encourage multiple participants from the same company to join us, as we have found from previous cohorts that having an internal accontability partner and change agent helps drive greater impact. Ideally someone involved directly with supply chain management and another individual from a related department (eg. Sustainability, CSR, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Logistics etc).
