Event description
The BEST Improv class for grades 8-12

About this Event

Is your child a shy kid? The class clown? Do they have the theater bug? Feed their soul through comedy classes! Improv classes build confidence, teach collaboration and grow creativity for students. Don’t tell your kids… but they will also learn how to support each other and work in a team environment while embracing their individuality. They will also make friends with other really, really funny kids. Our improv curriculum is designed to be fun while challenging each student, allowing them to feel comfortable and accomplished as they learn the art of improvisation. They will learn improv exercises and games.

Notice, this is our Teens Improv class, it is designed for grades 8 through 12. We also offer a Kids Improv class for grades 3 through 7.

No experience needed. We teach improv for kids in three levels, each class is 4 weeks long and designed to be taken several times. Level 3 will end with a class show … and we guarantee they will make you laugh!

This class runs Saturdays on 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, and 10/19 from 11am to 1pm!

The location of this class and the show is at our brand new theater at 10 South Prince Street in Lancaster (go in the door with the green awning). The location is very convenient to Steinman Park Parking Garage and there is typically ample metered street parking.

About the teacher: this class will be taught by Lancaster Improv Player’s own Bill Dewan! Bill Dewan’s theater experiences include being a member of Saturday Night Special (a comedy sketch ensemble at Millersville University), serving as House Manager for American Music Theater and as Executive Director of Opera Lancaster. He has been an active volunteer for the PA Council on the Arts, co-founded Lancaster Improv Players, is the current board President and helped establish the troupe’s partnership with Creative Works of Lancaster. He is an improv comedy student at Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC. He has performed improv in NYC, Atlanta, Baltimore, New Orleans, Philadelphia and East Petersburg. He has lead improv workshops for corporations, nonprofits and schools.
