A four-week study of the fundamentals of improv and how they can improve acting performance.

About this Event

In this class, we will focus on the fundamental principle of improv “Yes, and…” to explore how it can help develop listening, attention, and decision making to raise confidence and improve acting and audition skills. The course will meet on Thursdays from 6-8p for four weeks beginning on June 6th at The Working Actors’ Studio at 1900 Veterans Blvd. Ste. 204 , Metairie, LA.

About the Instructor:

David James Hamilton is a New Orleans born and bred improviser and actor. He graduated from both the improv and sketch programs at The New Movement, where, from 2014-2018, he served as co-conservatory director, tech director, building manager, and improv teacher and coach. He also helped build and served as director of TNM’s business workshop program, and led their week long improv intensive, Training Camp. He performs improv with the troupes Kinross Kasunick and Terrarium, and is a member of the film collective Windbreaker. He also proudly manages his partner’s dog’s Instagram, @dollytinyhead.
