Description

Katrina Morris will teach Improv for Actors and Directors, a version of her Improv for Human Beings program, uniquely tailored to actors and directors. Emphasis will be on authentic communication and attentive listening, which are the cornerstones to outstanding acting. Students will learn to use improvisation to develop characters and hone the naturalistic style of acting that is increasingly in demand for film and television.

About Katrina Morris

Katrina has studied and performed audience-suggested improvisation for over ten years, beginning with short-form game playing and moving on to long-form team performances. Her team, Cage-Free Humans performed regularly in Miami, as well as at the Del Close Marathon in New York. She has performed in commercials for FPL, Winn Dixie, and Minute Maid, among others and has appeared in such films as “Two Much” “The Supermarket” and “The Treasure Hunter.”

She developed her own program, called Improv for Human Beeings, which focuses on natural communication, emphasizing authenticity and respectful listening. She has taught her program at Improv South Miami and at regional improv theater. She produced and performed in her one-woman show, “Princess is Not an Occupation” and the short film, “The Position,” a film adaptation of the short play she performed in at MicroTheater Miami. She also performed at NPR’s Moth GrandSLAM Miami as a Moth regional winner.
