TERRY WITHERS, INSTRUCTOR BIO
Terry is a longtime improv comedian and instructor who got his start at the famed UCB Theatre in NYC in 2007. Besides serving as a long time teacher, house performer and senior staff member at UCBNY, Terry has taught improv at regional improv theaters across the US including Sea Tea Improv in Hartford, HIT in Harrisburg, Dad's Garage in Atlanta, BIG in Baltimore, GIG in Gainesville, Mettlesome in Raleigh Durham, Kickstand in Portland and many more. He has also taught improv students extensively at major universities including Penn State, the University of Florida, Graceland University, Western Connecticut State University, Western Washington University and many more.
Terry is a proud member of the improv internet sensation, Fuck That Shit, the namesake of The Terry Withers Mysteries, creator of Paranormal Comedy and co-creator (with Hunter Nelson) of David Mamet's "The New David Mamet Play" (both of which he tours to colleges nationally) and founder of The Radical Agreement Project (and also E-MPROV, which saw thousands of improvisers performing online years before it became trendy).
Terry was lucky to study with many of UCBNY's best when he starting out, including Zach Woods, Joe Wengert, Charlie Todd, Will Hines, Anthony King, Michael Delaney, Armando Diaz, Kevin Hines, Chris Gethard & Neil Casey.
Along the way he himself has taught or performed with many comedians who have gone on to recognizable success onscreen. That success is of course not because of him, but no one ever stood up and yelled "Fraud!" If you take his class, we guarantee that you also will not yell "Fraud!" at him.
