SLAVA KOROLENKOV - IMPRESSIONIST MASTER

Please join us for an amazing opportunity to train with the Impressionist Master Painter, Slava Korolenkov. Slava is from Moscow. He studied at the Moscow State Stoganov Academy of Arts. His work is known worldwide, and is represented by private collections in Japan, US, Germany, France, and Russia. In 2012, Slava began giving workshops across Russia and abroad.

You can read more about Slava on his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Korolenkov

WORKSHOP EVOLUTION

Stacy Krieg, a local Kansas City artist, saw Slava's work in Vail and knew that she had to know more about this artist. To her surprise, she reached out to Slava via Facebook, and found him to be not only an amazing artist, but a wonderful, humble person. She had a rare opportunity to train with him in Oregon later that same year. After training with Slava, Stacy's whole perception about art and it's process changed. The workshop brought art to life in a way that nothing else has. Slava teaches artists to paint from the heart, with intense vigor and confidence. Upon training with Slava, it has been Stacy's goal to bring him to Kansas City, so that other local artist's could gain from his knowledge. It is with pleasure that we announce that Slava has agreed to come and teach a workshop in Kansas City this summer!

BUTTONWOOD ART SPACE - DEMO EVENT LOCATION

Buttonwood Art Space, a very successful and innovative art gallery in downtown Kansas City, will host a demo event to kick off the workshop on the evening of 6/19 from 5-7pm. You do not need to be an artist to attend the demo event. Light snacks and drinks will be served.

PAINTING WORKSHOP - DETAILS/LOCATIONS

The 4 day painting workshop is suited for every level of artist from beginner to master painter. Slava has an amazing way to comfort students while building on their individual skills and interests. We will paint en plein air (outdoors) the first 3 days of the workshop (6/20-6/22). The setting is a local 10 acre farm in Shawnee, KS. Although the workshop is en plein air (outdoors), EVERY type of artist can build their skills and learn from Slava.

To add some diversity to the workshop, Slava will teach figurative/still life on the final day, 6/23/18. The final day of the workshop will be held indoors, at Artist & Craftsman Supplies, Kansas City, MO.

A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE WORKSHOP.........

-June is unpredicatable weather in Kansas. Please be prepared to work in the heat, outdoors at the workshop. The 10 acre farm has a barn and many trees for shade, but it could still be very warm/hot, late June. Bring a lot of water and your lunch each day.

-Please bring your own art supplies. There are no special paint colors required for the workshop. Stacy will send out a list of the colors Slava uses regularly to those who register. If you do not have plein air supplies, there is no need to purchase special equipment. You can pick up an in expensive easel to work on or feel free to bring a small table. Slava paints in oils, however, students are welcome to use whatever paints they are used to. It may likely be a warm day, so give that some thought if you will be using acrylics. You may need extenders, etc.

-Plein air painting experience is NOT necessary for this workshop. Your work will benefit from Slava’s instruction, no matter what your subject matter and experience level. Also, Slava is an impressionist painter. Painting in an impressionist style is NOT required for this class. Slava prefers that you paint in your own style.

-Slava requires a minimum of 8 students to hold the workshop. If that is not fulfilled, refunds will be made. The refunds will be done through Eventbrite/Paypal. Timing of refunds is dependent upon Eventbrite and Paypal refund process.

-If you need to cancel your registration, you have until 7 days before the event to do so. After that time, refunds will not be made. Any fees associated with the cancellation of your registration will be paid by the participant (ie. paypal or eventbrite fees).

-Slava speaks a decent amount of english, however, he is not completely proficient in the english language. As he continues to travel more in the US, his english is continually improving. Stacy will try to locate a Russian translator for parts of the workshop, although a translator is not guaranteed. Students normally understand Slava and his english has not been an issue.

-Although monetary payments will be made to Stacy Krieg through her paypal account, all money will be transferred to Slava for the workshop. Stacy has agree to fly Slava in for the workshop and provide food and housing and other expenses. Stacy will serve as the main point of contact for the workshop.
