Who should attend?

This session is for Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Speech and Language Therapists, Speech and Language Therapy Assistants or practitioners working with children who are using symbol based Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.This session is the first of a two part training session. It is recommended that attendee's sign up to both sessions where possible.

What will I learn?

  • To recognise a positive communication environment
  • To define Aided Language Modelling, how it works and why it is important
  • To investigate how vocabulary choice can influence opportunities to communicate using AAC

ACE Centre is committed to providing the best possible service for everyone. Ongoing evaluation of the work that we do is essential and your participation in this process is vital. We will ask you to provide information at three stages:

  • Details about you at time of booking
  • Feedback immediately after training event
  • Reflection on practice at 3-6 months after completion of training
