This month's edition honors the venerable Spanish tradition of the tertulia, a social gathering in the early evening where people came together at their local cafe to discuss art, literature, music, culture, social issues and politics. Kinda sounds like Impact Socials, no?
The organizing is on us; the drinks are not. Favela Cubana's fabulous happy hour menu has $6 cocktail specials (margaritas, mojitos, caipirinhas and more) and $5 tapas-style plates (empanadas, lula fritas, bohlinhos de baccalau and more). Mmmmm, mucho bueno. As always teetotalers are welcome.
A, C, E, B, D, F, M trains to W 4th Street station or N, R to Prince Street station.
See you soon,
#ImpactSocials are monthly gatherings created to bring together outreach, engagement and innovation strategists; film and media makers; broadcasters and distributors; transmedia producers and digital gurus; scholars and educators; social justice activists and advocates; and, progressive cultural organizers.
Held on the first Thursday of every month, the goal is to help us create connections across disciplines, spark collaborations, seed ideas and inspire each other's creativity -- and just maybe have a little fun while doing it.
