Impactmania Launch Celebration
Celebrate the Birth of an Online Magazine — Meet Fellow Impact Makers.
UC Santa Barbara Art, Design & Architecture Museum is hosting the official launch of impactmania on February 19, from 5:30-7:30 PM.
Impactmania, the online magazine, builds on the book, Impact X, and features thinkers and doers around the world who drive impact in the following categories: Arts & Culture, Business, Human Interests, and Science & Technology.
The Santa Barbara issue includes Laurie Ashton, Nuclear Zero’s lead counsel; Trevor Morris, two-time Emmy award-winning composer; Jack Nadel, entrepreneur and author; Masha Keating, painter; Kevin Steele, photographer; Barbara Greenleaf, author and Director of Institutional Advancement at Antioch University; and Teresa Law, Westmont College alumna and social entrepreneur.
The magazine, founded by Paksy Plackis-Cheng, is in collaboration with writer and videographer, Melissa Walker, and other contributors worldwide. In Santa Barbara, contributors include UC Santa Barbara’s PhD candidates Chelsea Catania and Leah Kuritzky, and Westmont College student, Chad Sykes.
We hope to see you on February 19th!

RSVP is required; limited space.
The launch event will include videos from impact makers and music by DJ Ted Coe, from KCSB & radio producer/host of The Freak Power Ticket.
“The AD&A Museum, which is part of UC Santa Barbara, is a natural fit for the launch of this incredible venture,” says Elyse A. Gonzales, AD&A Museum Acting Director and Curator of Exhibitions. “Our campus, as well as the Museum serve as creative incubators for some of the most innovative projects happening in the arts, humanities, and sciences, many of which are interdisciplinary. We are delighted to host this event and look forward to more collaborations with impactmania.”
