Event description

Description

The Impact Women’s Network brings together professional women for Impact Wednesday to hear the latest on entrepreneurship, business, research and much more. Impact Wednesday takes place the first Wednesday morning of every month (excluding January and August) at a different location. These morning meetings are grounded in women sharing their expertise as well as their experience through Impact Talks and group activities and discussions.

Impact Wednesday November Theme:

Diversity, a formula for success

With International Men’s Day occurring later this month, at Impact Women’s Network we believe in many of the same values and as such we have developed this month’s topic to celebrate how collectively we make more impact. We are therefore encouraging each female attendee to also register a male colleague to attend with you (please note both must register).

Note: Venue size is strictly limited so we will be running a waiting list. Please advise if you are no longer able to attend so we can re-allocate your space.

Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) has been on many companies’ agendas for years, and we continue to see the increased impetus for true inclusive growth. It would be inconceivable for a business that didn’t want to understand their customers better, improve engagement with their employees, deliver better team performance, and encourage greater innovation and creativity. So at this #ImpactWednesday our speakers will be sharing their insights and best practices on how they facilitate an inclusive work culture.

Speaker Profiles

Carmen Leacy, Year 8, St Benedict's Catholic School, Suffolk

My name is Carmen Leacy and I am 12 years old. I wrote this poem in school after my teacher set the task of writing a ‘protest poem’. I chose this particular topic of gender equality because I feel that women and girls are still sometimes not treated fairly in certain environments. I play football at a high level, and this is one of many areas where there could be a huge improvement in equality.
