Event description

Description

This is a forum for discussing and action planning at the intersection of tech and impact. Because technology can, and will, change the world for good.

Technology is changing the world as we know it, and with it comes to both unprecedented challenges and opportunities. The technological revolution has also proven to be a key driver of positive impact on both people and the planet and has the potential to engage, empower and educate people around the world.

Major corporations are partnering up with social entrepreneurs that have developed digital solutions for positive social or environmental impact and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Innovative ideas have emerged in the field of Tech4Good and partnerships are also created between the public and private sectors to develop world-bettering technology.

This experience-based event will gather key players in technology and impact for a conversation about what measures can be taken to advance impact through technology, games and education. Following the discussion, participants will be able to try out and experience VR, AR and other techs that have been developed, in one way or another, to address the SDGs through immersive digital experiences.

Join us for an evening of impact talks and networking at Gateway - the Swedish innovation platform in New York City!

ABOUT SACCNY'S IMPACT TRACK

On track for collective impact

Sweden is world-renowned as “the innovation nation” and is simultaneously striving to become a leader in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. That combination has led Sweden to become a hub for impact-producing startups with bleeding-edge ideas on how to galvanize positive change in every industry.

Many of these companies have ambitions to have an impact on a global scale and are at the same time eager to collaborate with the private sector, corporate world, financial sector and policy. This is where SACCNY comes in.
SACCNY’s mission is to create synergies between Swedish and American companies and is now gearing its energy towards building a network of sustainability movers and shakers.

In a time where we are battling the clock against climate change, we believe that business has a big role to play. By facilitating learning and building partnerships between companies across sectors and continents, we can move towards reducing negative impact faster. The Impact Track aims to build coordinated movements of global companies, social entrepreneurs and investors and shape an impact network based on the type of collaboration that scales impact.
