This training is for current SURJ members and is not open to the public at this time.
The objective of this training is to build on the SURJ shared values of Calling-in and Taking Risks when responding to situations of interpersonal conflict and violence (i.e. harassment and assault) through non-violent actions. This training will foster an anti-oppressive self-awareness as a factor to support safety and encourage challenging conversations that can be transformative.
Preparation for interventions include:
1. Assessment and interrogation of oppressive structures and historical environment contributing to the situation
2. Identifying individuals involved, their interests and motivations
3. Develop the action appropriate to the situation.
