In deze kickoff tonen we hoe je kan deelnemen als externe kunstenaar/maker, of hoe jij deel kan uitmaken van ons Impact traject. In dat traject bedenken, ontwerpen én maken we samen het andere deel van de tentoonstelling en van het gehele Impact festival.

💭 Nadien voorzien we ook een workshop rond brainstorming - een proevertje om je goesting te laten krijgen in de rest van het traject, en natuurlijk het festival!

▶️ Praktische informatie

Op woensdag 25/05 trappen wij het Impact festival 2022 af met een informatiesessie en een brainstorm workshop om een idee te geven van ons traject. De informatiesessie zal de onderstaande zaken behandelen:

- Geschiedenis van het Impact festival

- De waardes achter het initiatief en het thema voor dit jaar

- Het Impact traject

- Externe call voor artiesten, kunstenaars en makers

- Samenwerking tussen High Tech Lab en ImpactLeuven

▶️ Begeleidingstraject en festival

Na deze kickoff, zullen we de groep begeleiden in een creatieve reis. Denk aan workshops, constructieve feedback, tussentijdse toonmomenten, lekker eten samen, en dat om jouw ideeën een concrete vorm te geven.

Na dit traject zal jij mee een interactieve tentoonstelling gebouwd en gecureerd hebben. Dit tonen én vieren we op Impact festival dat doorgaat in het weekend van 16-18 september op de maakleerplek, Leuven.

▶️ Voor externe artiesten, kunstenaars, makers

Naast het begeleide traject zoeken wij naar artiesten, kunstenaars en makers die zelf als ideeën hebben rond onze thema’s en hier zelf rond willen werken (of al hebben gewerkt). Zij dienen hun idee of huidige werk in Augustus in waarna een jury de werken zal uitkiezen die het beste aan onze criteria voldoen.

Deze ideeën zetten jullie om in een werk, visualisatie of opvoering, (of dit is reeds gemaakt). Deze werken krijgen dan ook hun plaats op de tentoonstelling op Impact festival.

The High Tech Lab, part of maakleerplek, is a prototyping lab rooted in circularity. Come to us if you have creative ideas but not the tools - we can help you with our 3D printers, laser cutter, CNC router and more! We provide a community night on Thursday where we freely help you complete ideas. We also give workshops and trainings to individuals and companies on innovative technologies.

Yolan Gielen is the founder of ImpactLeuven and has organised previous iterations of Impact Festival. He works as a consultant in the realm of sustainability and circular economy and helps organisations and corporates to implement these concepts. He is also the coördinator for the Advanced Business Management Bachelor (circular design) at UCLL.

We’ll explain how you can participate as an external artist/maker, or participate in the guided impact trajectory where we think out and build the rest of the exhibition and festival.

▶️ Practical information

On Wednesday 25/5 we will kick off Impact festival 2022 with an information session and a brainstorming workshop that gives an idea of our trajectory. The information session will cover the following:

- The history of Impact Festival

- The values behind the initiative and theme for this year

- Impact trajectory

- External call for artists and makers

- Collaboration between High Tech Lab Leuven and ImpactLeuven

▶️ Impact trajectory and festival

After this kickoff, we will guide the group in a creative journey. Workshops, constructive feedback sessions, intermittent exposition opportunities,... All of this to give substance to your (creative) ideas.

By the end of the Impact trajectory you will have built and curated an interactive exposition. This is a cause of celebration and to do just that, we organise Impact festival that takes place in the weekend of 16-18 September at maakleerplek, Leuven

▶️ For external artists and makers

Aside from the Impact trajectory, we will be looking for artists and maker who have ideas on the themes of our festival. We especially want to collaborate with those that are willing to create (or have created in the past). They may submit their idea or work in August where a jury will choose the creations that are a best fit with our criteria.

These ideas will be transformed in a work of art, a visualisation or performance (or has already been done so). The resulting works will be shown on the Impact festival.
