Event description

Description

Nonprofits are looking to the next mayor to show courageous leadership to address the issues that face Albuquerque. As champions of equity and social justice with frontline expertise, nonprofit leaders are looking for a mayoral candidate who is open to input, innovative solutions and fostering local partnerships between government agencies and nonprofits to address systemic issues.

Nonprofits from multiple sectors will be present. The format will consist of both large and small group discussions around our most pressing issues in nonprofit sectors across the Greater Abq area. The five forum guiding issues/concepts are: Social Justice, Education, Poverty, Economic Development, and Health.

This is a FREE event but we do request RSVP by September 25th. Please choose from one of the guiding concepts for your "ticket" to help us organize the small group discussions.

Please join our emcee, local poet, Mary Oishi from KUNM, and our organizing partners: La Red del Rio Abajo, SINC, NM Thrives, The Grants Collective, and UNM's Office of Community Engaged Learning & Research at Humble Coffee Downtown for an engaging and enriching forum.

Confirmed candidates in attendance:
Brian Colón, Dan Lewis, Gus Pedrotty, Susan Wheeler-Deichsel, and Tim Keller
