About this Event

Are juvenile records sealed?

What can you do if you think your child is being recruited by gang members?

What are your rights as a non-English speaker navigating the criminal justice system?

What should you expect from juvenile court? How does it work?

What are some of the barriers immigrant youths face?

In light of the challenges many immigrants encounter when they navigate the criminal justice system, the City of Greensboro’s International Advisory Committee is partnering with Thrive GSO to offer a free, three part series called Thrive International. The second of our series, focused on immigrant youth engagement, juvenile diversion and criminal records is scheduled for Thursday, September 19 from 5:30 – 7 pm at Glenwood Branch Library (1901 W Florida St).

Speakers will share information about how a criminal record might impact one's immigration status, rights to language access assistance and legal support when navigating the criminal justice system, responsibilities and common pitfalls. We will also feature agencies who proactively engage youth and offer preventive resources.

To request an interpreter, please contact Human Relations at 336-373-2038 at least three days before the event.
