Event description
Immediate Song is a combination concert and poetry reading inspired by UC emeritus professor Don Bogen’s latest book.

About this Event

Immediate Song is anchored in brief lyric poems, and the poet will alternate readings with musical interludes by mezzo-soprano Kate Tombaugh and pianist Jill Jantzen as they present settings of Bogen’s poetry by contemporary composers Steven Weimer and Ellen Harrison.

This concert will be presented online, but in a unique Salon 21 format that brings high calibre performances and artists Q&As to YOUR living room! RSVP to gain access to the concert link, which will be sent out the evening of the event. Registration closes at 4pm on the concert date, and the event starts at 7pm. Get your tickets today, and we look forward to seeing you up-close and virtual!

New to Salon 21? Great, welcome!

HERE'S WHAT WE DO: In short, we are petite piano concerts.

Long form - We've taken the 19th century salons, where famous musicians and composers performed in people’s living rooms, and updated this piece of history for the 21st century. This year we are moving to a virtual format, but that doesn't change our goal: an evening filled with wine, food, friends, world-class music and exciting new ideas brought to YOUR living room! Salon 21 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
